Sophos XG Firewall Home Edition - unable to boot after installation - hard drive cannot be booted from

Hi,

I have just completed the install for the Sophos XG Firewall onto a machine on my network. On installation finish, I removed the CD as prompted to and pressed 'y' to reboot the machine. The drive in which the firewall was installed to is unable to be booted from. There are no errors on attempt - it simply attempts to boot from LAN instead.

I've attempted this install twice. both times have been unsuccessful.

Any ideas?

Same problem over here. IDE drive, installs just fine without error and not bootable after first reboot.

Interesting. I believe the system I installed it onto uses an IDE drive.

Interestingly, windows 10 setup sees the drive as "Unallocated Space".

I wonder if the SFOS is even compatible with PATA...

Not that you'd be wanting to use PATA due to the low disk transfer rates at all.

How many drives are installed in the machine?

Is the software capable of writing to the drive.

W10 more than likely will not recognise a linux drive or partitions.
