XG310 to XGS2100 Migration - Secure Storage Master Key ?

Hi,

I have plan to migrate our Sophos Firewall XG310 to XGS2100 on this December.

Existing SFOS : 20.0.2 MR-2-Build378 .

I have watch this migration Techvid

https://techvids.sophos.com/share/watch/tozUBTeL3Pkje85qz3Qngg

And I did Device Compatibility Check with Result : Backup Allowed

On the Migration Techvid, it showed that require Secure Storage Master Key during Restore Process into New Device.

My Question is :

1. Is Secure Storage Master Key are mandatory to input during Restore Process ?

2. I'm afraid has set this Secure Storage Master Key during new installation XG Firewall, how to check it?

Thanks.

  • In order to restore a backup, you need to know the Secure Storage Master Key that was used by the original system the backup was made from.

In order to restore a backup, the system that you are restoring to should have the Secure Storage Master Key set prior to the restore.

Pease make sure write down every SSMK.  In fact in the GUI when you set the SSMK you must click a check box that says you stored it somewhere else.
