Cannot adopt Unifi WAP using Sophos XGS

I have a Unifi USQ Pro 8-port connected to my Sophos XGS116 using an LC duplex fiber cable. No problems! Can adopt Unifi WAPS connected directly to the Sophos switch. All DHCP server info is being passed nicely from the Sophos firewall to the Unifi switch.

However, when I plug a Unifi WAP directly into a port in the back of my Sophos unit (all LAN ports are bridged to work like a switch) the WAP is found, address is found, adoption starts then fails.

I've read dozens of help posts online but cannot seem to get this to work. Any help would be appreciated!!!

  • Hi,

What device is accepting the Unfi APs? Please check logviewer and run a PCAP on the port when you connect the AP. I suspect that the XG is not passing some basic WIFI configuration information that normally only goes to the switch which.
