Configure Smarthost for Outgoing Mails (only for one domain)

Hi all,

I have multiple Domains mananged in my LAN. Sophos XGS3300 protects that mails.

Now I want only one internal domain to use a smarthost for outgoing mail. All other domains should proceed directly via MX.

How to manage that? Mail Policies are based on recipient mail addresses. Not based on sender mails.

Outgoing Smarthost can only be setup or not without any exception.

Any hints?

Hi GernotMeyer ,

Thank you for reaching out to the community, under the Email > General settings > Smart host > by setting up it will route outbound emails through the specified server and acts as an intermediate server between the sender's and recipient's mail servers, the default port number is 25 and don't specify the interface IP address of Sophos Firewall for the smarthost. It will cause a routing loop. It only supports PLAIN and LOGIN authentication protocols. So, if you want Sophos Firewall to authenticate the smarthost before routing emails. Enter the sign-in credentials.

Hi, thanks for fast answer. The setting you describe will send ALL outgoing traffic to a smarthost.

I need to separate (as written) that only one sender domain should be forwarded to that smarthost.
