Notification on Certificate expiration

Hello,

we have multiple environments of Sophos SG and XG Clusters. As we are not able to check every Cluster itself we automated a notification for WAF Certificate Expiration.

On SG this is built-in but not so on the XG.

I searched a little, and the last thing I think could help is to query it via api.

Is there any possibility to check this?

SNMP would be possible as well...

Any Insights?

  • To be honest, you should not be relying on your firewall to manage your SSL certificates or things like this will continue to happen. There are plenty of tools out there that can identify certificates within x days of expiration that are far better suited for this purpose.

  • You might be right there. But "I don't value your use case" should not prevent us from finding a solution regardless.

  • Mostly we use monitoring via PRTG or NAGIOS/ICINGA.
Also, external services to check and notify Webpages/SSL are available...
But the feature-request would be helpful too
