Slow SharePoint Downloads

I'm at a loss here.  Downloads from SharePoint seem to be capped at around 500kbps.  Downloads from other websites are fine and come down at several Mbps.  Another site a few miles away with the same XGS 3300 model firewall and basic config, same ISP, gets several Mb/s from the same SharePoint site and the same files.

The primary firewall and NAT rules for internet access appear to be the same on both devices.  I don't see any policy differences that would target SharePoint sites.

I was also able to upload a 5 GB ISO file to the same SharePoint site in just a couple minutes.  Downloading the same file was capped at 500kbps.

Any troubleshooting advice would be welcome.

  • Hi FAAC Inc,

Thank you for reaching out to Sophos Community.

    • Kindly try to check the Firewall Logs to see if any specific rules related to SharePoint traffic might be causing the issue. Or Traffic shaping policy?
    • Do a packet capture between the two mentioned sites to check further.
    • Do you have a Proxy or web filtering settings?
    • If possible, kindly try to do a direct test bypassing the FW and check the ISP Connection.
