TWO LAN and ONE Gateway SOHOS Firewall XG115

How can I share access to the gateway (Sophos XG 115) between TWO LANs with different IP addresses?
e.g.
lan1 192.168.0.0
lan2 192.168.2.0
where the gateway is ONE on 192.168.2.252

It's possible?
Thanks

  • Hello Antonio,

Thanks for reaching out to Sophos Community.

Add this 192.168.2.252 on a specific Port and set its Network Zone as WAN zone. Any specific reason why your LAN2 has the same address scheme as your Gateway address? If you can change this to another addressing scheme the approach could be simpler.

-Create a Firewall rule for Lan1 and Lan2 (can be on the same rule or individually) Source: Lan Zone, Networks: 192.168.0.0 and 192.168.1.x (say you opted to change your LAN2s subnet) -> Destination :WAN zone, Networks: Any

  • If these LANs are attached to two physical ports of your firewall, then the IP of LAN2 is the gateway for LAN1.

Look at this like that: the router is your firewall in this case, so it has to know where to route the packets to, if you want to reach "outside".
