One WAN Link weight is 1 and another WAN Link weight is 3. Which WAN link is priority and how traffic is load balancing?
For weight value, suppose you have two gateways (WAN1 and WAN2) with individual weights of 1 and 3. The firewall assigns the first session to WAN1, followed by another three sessions to WAN2, and session five to WAN1 again this way load balancing will work.
To set priority, I would suggest using SD-WAN for a clear view.

Thank you for reaching out to the community, Sophos Firewall load-balances traffic among gateways based on the number of sessions. The volume of data transmitted in the session doesn't affect the decision. Suppose you have two gateways (gw0
and gw1
) with individual weights of 2 and 1. The firewall assigns the first two sessions to gw0
, session three to gw1
, and session four to gw0
again.
