Sophos Connect - OpenVPN service not available - Windows 10 LTSB (IoT)

Hello

Are there knwon issues with Sophos Connect on Windows 10 Enterprise 2016 LTSB 1607? I get the message "OpenVPN service not available". In addition in the systray the icon does not launch automatically. This only appears after double clicking on the Sophos Connect (Desktop) icon.
The services are available and active. Deactivating and activating them does not change anything. Uninstalling and reinstalling does not change anything either. Also several reboots bring no change.
The old Sophos VPN client was previously uninstalled and the directory deleted.
The old Sophos VPN client works.
Under Windows 10 Pro 21H2 everything works without problems.

Sophos Connect version 2.1.20
Windows 10 Enterprise 2016 LTSB 1607 x64 (IoT) patchlevel May 2022 on a ThinClient

  • For anyone seeing this -  and I had discussion based on this topic (Sophos Connect on Windows Server) about ARM/LTSC/IoT and that LTSC/IoT is equal to ARM and that those editions can be a x86/x64 system. The docs does not cover those cases. Vivek is going to have a deeper look internally, raised a service request and will update us all once there are more infos

Also stated this here, so that doesn't also go on an internal clarification expedition into the shoals of processor architecture and buzzword bingo ^^
