How WAN load balancing work on HA mode

Hi,

I wonder how the sophos WAN load balancing work on HA mode.

I have 2 wan links 800Mbps/200Mbps up/down connected to port2 & port3,

after enable Weighted Round Robin the speed test show 932Mbps download and 423Mbps upload which is fine it show the speed of connections has doubled on upload and more then 800Mbps for download.

And I understood  that can't get 1600mbps download is because limited by physical port gigabit link.

My question is why I had configured HA active-active mode also can't get higher speed?

Both unit same model 135 HA status show up and running no problem, tested fail-over to another unit also fine.

The thing is how can I show to clients that both units under HA is load balancing. And this is why you need to pay double the subscriptions fee.

  • RichardLeong,

you can try to monitor both XG wan ports by using the iftop -i "interfacename" command from advanced shell from both XG and show that both are handling WAN traffic.

Otherwise, you can use the live connections TAB from XG UI interface while you are connected to both primary and secondary XG https IP address.

    Regards
