Bug in external interface live testing

The external interface is going up and down quite  a lot, some days up to 10 times according the emails I receive.

I have changed modems, I have changed cables and now I have changed ISPs using a different line. I have changed the external interface from an DSL2+ service to a naked service and still receive notifications that the link is down. The log doesn't show any PPPoE activity so that implies a bug in the software.

  • Hi,

Please provide me some more details to investigate further on this matter.

    1. Which Sophos Appliance is used ? UTM 9 or Sophos XG ?

    2. What is the IP configured in Failover Rule (XG) OR Uplink monitoring (UTM 9).

    3. Please  provide me Output for interface configuration through Shell.

    > For UTM 9, login to UTM through SSH and type the command " ifconfig", provide me the output it displays.

    >For XG, login to UTM through SSH, click on option 4. Device console and type "show network interfaces", provide me the output it displays.

    Thanks
