user menu is not present

Hi Regsa,

looking at the screenshot it seems as you are logged in as the super administrator customer.

There is no internal user management for this customer. You can only add additional administrative users by going to the "Administrators" section.

You have to create a separate Sophos Mobile Control customer to add devices and activate either the internal or external user managment for this customer.

My issue is slightly different. I can select the "User" menu but there are no options available. I get a message that "An error occurred. The administrators have been notified."

please make sure the SMCSVCDS service is running on your SMC server.

This server is required to connect to the OpenLDAP implemented with Sophos Mobile Control 3.6.

Maybe the server is not running and therefore, you cannot perform any changes.

Good call, the SMCSVCDS service is down. When I try to start it I get an event log error (7034: The SMCSVC Directory service terminated unexpectedly) but no other log entries. Thoughts?

that's strange.

Can you please run the file %MDM_HOME%\OpenLDAP\run.cmd  using a command box?

This should actually start the directory service. If there are any errors displayed, please redirect the output into a file and send us this output.
