Difference between containers and work profile?

Hi,

am just planing our strategy on rolling out Sophos mobile to several devices. We use IOS and Android. Most of the the devices are company owned, some are BYOD. Even the company mobiles are used privately, because management hat no objections. Some users use their own Itunes account on company phone. For the future I need to  prevent this, but the impact on those users would to to great, if from now on I would only allow company stuff on those phones.

From what I read so far, fully managed devices for Android need to be factory resetted before enrollment. This does not seem to be an option, cause the users will be too upset.

Situation right now is, that users uninstalled old MDM ( Symantec mobile cloud). An all devices ( IOS & Android) users have installed Outlook and Onedrive to connect to company resources. For testing porposes I created a work profile for Android devices and deployes it via task bundle to one testing device. This worked good for the moment, but one thing is bugging me. Now the device has 2 Outlook and 2 Ondrive Apps installed. The one that has been there already, totally configured with the needed settings, and the new one pushed via task bundle. How can I prevent users using the old Outlook ( without Android Enterprise) resp. how can I prevent them to connect to company mail from the old outlook? We use O365, but I think this is not important.

Would it be better to use Sophos containers instead of work profiles? What is the excat difference?
