AD Sync + Email Alias

Hello-

When syncing users via AD Sync, the edit button for adding aliases is not clickable.  Is there a certain AD attribute that needs to be added to be able to have aliases for these users?  This obviously isn't a problem if the user's mailbox is manually created, but we have fully setup the AD sync program for automation purposes.  Thank you

  • Hi,

    1. you can go to the AD user’s properties >> attribute editor tab >> proxyAddresses.  You can then add the alias email addresses there for that user. The aliases will have a lower case ‘smtp:’ the primary would have a higher case ‘SMTP:’ for example:

    SMTP:primaryemail@domain.com

    smtp:aliasemail1@domain.com
