Deploying Sophos

Hey guys,

im currently trying to deploy sophos from the utm home edition, but currently i dont find any way to do that sucesfully.

I tried to do a sysrep and take a image of the device, but any machine im installing with that image shows up in the utm management as the same device.

I found this after i googled: https://community.sophos.com/kb/en-us/28591 but none of those files exist for me / the folder Remote Management System dosent exist at all.

Maybe someone can help me out with this :)

Hello Sebastian Mueller,

please see the first item under Notes: How to install Sophos Central Endpoint on a gold image avoiding duplicate identities. The UTM version should be similar to Central.

Obtain the MCS Token:

Go to:

Windows Vista and above: C:\Programdata\Sophos\Management Communications System\Endpoint\Config\

Windows XP: %ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Application Data\Sophos\Management Communications System\Endpoint\Config\

Open file Config.xml and check for the line <registrationToken>.This will show a long alphanumeric string.

Copy token string.

There is no <registrationToken> in that file on my client?

Hello Sebastian Mueller,

the Endpoint Protection Guideline suggests there's a Registration Token somewhere. As I'm using neither Central nor a UTM I can't verify the details, but perhaps this article or some other from the UTM 9 > Endpoint Protection topic will help you to work them out.
