Install standalone without handing out user and pwd

Hello, have home users that want to install sophos on home PC. Problem: can't use switches to install standalone, how do I allow them to install client without giving out username and password for update access?

  • @Ec123456789: Are we talking about the Sophos download credentials?

Have used all variants. Copying is the simplest solution but requires a little knowledge, scripting or packing it in an executable

requires that you determine the correct target location.

    C:\ProgramData\Sophos\AutoUpdate\Config\iconn.cfg

or C:\Program Files\... for WinXP (nitpicking as always).

If you have laptop users you probably want to create a WebCID for them anyway. It can also be used by home users. Creating a standalone installer for home (and off-site) users is not too hard and gives you the chance of pre-defining the configurations (not only update). This has already been discussed in this forum.
