Sophos Update Manager removal

We are trying to install Sophos  sec_51_sfx  on Windows 2008 Server R2 but it continually errors the Sophos Update Manager is already installed. We have looked in add/remove programs and can't find anything installed.

Error - Sophos Update Manager is already installed. Please uninstall it before continuing.

During installation what check does it do to determine SUM is installed?

Seems that 5.0 was previously loaded but not sure how it was uninstalled since I inherited this server.

     I had no registry keys that matched or any with sophos listed in the registry.

    I did see this in the Sophos_bootstrapper log file but again it didn't match up to anything in the registry.

    11/22/2012 1:38:45 AM, INFO : Running System Property Check: Sophos EM Console must not be installed on this computer...

    I think at this point we will trash the box and rebuild.
