Commandline scanner for IIS and FTP scanning

Hello there,

Got my previous post on FTP and IIS scans deleted, some how.Any ways thanks to Sil (dont remmember the complete name of the persone who replied).

Sil,

I would be interested in knowing some more information about the command line scanner and how it works. Will there be any installations or enabling features to be done on the IIS/FTP servers? How to run this? etc..

I have enabled the private messages option on my settings. Waiting to hear back from you..

Thanks,

Sai k

  • Hi Saik, Sophos offer a command-line anti-virus scanner that may be used with third-party applications. More details are available here:

  • hi Lil,

Thanks a lot for your response. I have gone through the datasheet of SAV interface.

    I have the following question..

Can IIS/FTP make a call to this command line?

Here is the functionality I am looking for:

User request from internet reaches IIS or FTP server --> FTP server makes a call to the SAV interface to know if there is a mallware present--> SAV interface scans and sends back the result-->IIS/FTP allows the traffic.

Please let me know if this is possible with SAV interace.

Thanks and anticipating a quick response.

  • Hi again Saik,

I had to contact our development group for an answer, as I have little experience with the SAV Dynamic Interface.

This is possible by using SAVDI in the same way that you would for UNIX: you'll need to configure a new directory to accept incoming traffic and write a script that periodically requests a SAVDI scan of the incoming directory and forwards the clean files to another directory for use.

    Will that work for you?

    Best regards,

    Lil
