OS X Image.

Is it possible that the tech put 68 Macs out there with the same ID and that's why I don't see them in the console?

If so, how do we fix it?

  • Hello DavidL,

if Sophos was already installed on the template computer it might be that the "clones" appear as one computer. Assuming they have been renamed afterwards you should see one computer which constantly changes it's name. If there is indeed one (and only one) you can verify that there is indeed more than one computer "behind" it by triggering a detection on two (or more) of the computers using the EICAR testfile . You should see the accumulated alerts in this computer's details.

  • Nice Idea.... We tried 5 of them.

They all sent emails, NONE of them show up in the console.

    What's next?

  • On the client check the RMS component  (I'll copy the relevant part from ):

The client usually contacts the server shortly after install. Open the following location in your favourite browser: file:///Library/Logs/SophosMessageRouter/NetworkRe port/ReportData.xml - it's the same information as on windows. You'll find the Router logs in the SophosMessageRouter folder which may contain error details.
