Web Protection is no longer functional entry in log

I am using endpoint AV 10.8 on 5 standalone PC's(not using the console or sophos firewall) and recently realised that this message was appearing in the logs on all of them.  The only information I can find about the issue goes back several years.

Has anyone got any ideas how to correct this, or has windows 10 turnedweb protection off on favour of its reputational based protection?

My licences run until Sept 2022

    you are talking about the stand-alone builds you can download with your SESC license, aren't you?

    has windows 10 turned web protection off
    if  SAV deliberately were to turn off Web Protection it wouldn't classify this as error. There's a recent thread about this error that might help you to assess the situation.

  • I am using standalone endpoint and control on idividual PCs. Since posting this question I found a recent Sophos advisory, which indicates that the  issue is probably with later versions of Firefox, which I am using.  Unfortunately I have updated to the latest version.  The issue also seems to be present with Edge.  My licences run until next September, so hopefully when I renew, the problem will have gone away by then.
