Scanning mapped drive (Does Sophos download entire file to scan or just a few bytes)

I am trying to understand how Sophos scans mapped drives.

Does it actually use bandwidth to scan the file or it scans it in place? The mapped drive is a cloud drive and I would like to make sure I am not inducing bandwidth charge.

Hi Michael Conde

A scheduled scan only scans locally connected hard disks not mapped drives, You will need to manually select the mapped drive to Scan in which the on-access scanner will be scanning entire files.
