virus signature "virus data date" vs "last update"

Hey guys,

we currently have difficulties connecting to a customer via vpn. The customer uses "Cisco anyconnect secure mobility client". This client checks the Antivir for latest virus signatures and here is where the problem starts. The client checks "virus data date" of the sophos client.

Acording to this* post however "virus data date" isnt actually the date of the most latest virus signatures but rather "last update".

What is true here? Is now "virus data date" or "last update" the right one?

Greetings

Gagneur

  • Hello Gagneur,

Virus data date refers to Detection data (currently 5.54) that are updated roughly monthly.
Indeed it's the Last updated - but note the one in the Product information window,

not the Last updated in the Status pane

that is the time of the last check, the same you get when you hover over the Sophos icon.
