Disable CryptoGuard - One Server

Hi all,

Our tape backups began to perform extremely slowly after 21st February (going from 16 hours to 24+ hours), and, after quite a bit of investigation, we can see that Cryptoguard was installed on the 21st February. As a test, we would like to disable it on our File and Print server (which is the one that takes the longest time in the backup procedure). So, my question is, how can we disable this? Can we create a new policy in Sophos Central? Or should I just uninstall it temporarily and reinstall it tomorrow?

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

  • Hi

To disable the cryptoguard, login to Sophos Central Dashboard | Endpoint Protection | Policies | Threat Protection Policy | Settings | under Run Time Protection, you will see Cryptoguard. This is where you can disable the Cryptoguard feature however, I wouldn't recommend disabling it, but for the testing purpose you may disable it and once the backup is complete enable the cryptoguard security feature.
