Sophos and Proxies

Currently in the process of deploying sophos central as a replacement for on-prem. Having some fun setting the up with proxies and our internal policies with internet access.

We have a policy which states that we are not supposed to leave the proxy set on servers, they are not supposed to have access to the web, except for when we want them to. But to set up a server as a cache server, it seems to require the netsh winhttp cache to be left set, or it wont download.

Even manually editing the c:\programData\sophos\config\config.xml and adding the proxy, the log file shows that its using http://proxy.int.com:8080, but fails to actually download anything.

Has anyone else had any joy with the sophos installer and setting application specific proxies.
