As far as I have been able to determine, it is true. I submitted a feature request about this 8 months ago or so, but no luck yet. The best we can do is keep hounding them that the customers really want this.
This is true. I requested a change for this over a year ago and didn't get a response. If you are going to use the email alerts to trigger a ticket with your ticketing system, I recommend setting up a rule in outlook to forward only the high alerts. This is what I done as a work around until they applied that feature.
Good look! I will do this personally with mine. I would like to be able to do what ePO did with their email system where I could select who it was sending those emails to, but there are not options to edit that it just pings us on everything. That is okay for now, but it will get annoying when we get our entire network on Sophos. I also talked with their support and found this link:

Apparently they have it planned for it to come "soon" they stated that it was coming in the next 12 months, which is in 2 months, so we will see if they follow through with that.
