Egnyte Drive for Mac - Sophos exceptions

We are running Egnyte Drive in our Mac environment and are experiencing repeated crashes and freezing when seems to improve when Sophos Antivirus is uninstalled/disabled.

Anyone else out there experienced similar.  

I've tried adding scan exceptions in lots of formats, wondering if anyone has an exception list that works for Egnyte Drive.

    Curious to know if you found exception paths that worked out; what version of OS X and Egnyte Drive also. We've run Egnyte Drive and Sophos Central Endpoint without much trouble—did not set any exceptions. OS X 10.10.5 Egnyte Drive 1.6.2.

    Have yet to find a solution that doesn't involve turning off on-access scanning.

    I should have added more information about our environment!  We're experiencing problems on MacOS 10.11.6 to 10.12.3 using Egnyte Drive versions from 1.6.1 to 1.6.3.

    We're new to Egnyte so not sure what our experience would have been on previous versions of MacOS.
