Sophos installation using RMM on MacOS

Hi,

I'm trying to automate Sophos Central installation via NinjaRMM.

For Windows, I'm able to  use Installed Software as a condition as described in the support guide:  Create a Deployment Policy

However, I'm not sure what condition is best to use with MacOS.

I'm guessing that the best solution is to check for is if a process Exist or not, but what process should I be looking for?

Found this overview: https://support.sophos.com/support/s/article/KB-000035971?language=en_US

But what is best to use?

Anyone knows?

  • Hi JohnMaA,

Thanks for reaching out to the Sophos Community Forum.

I'd suggest checking the downloaded supplementary files included with the installer for macOS. Within the "Deployment Tools" folder, you'll file an "Install Sophos Script.txt", this is a bash script that can be used to aid in the deployment process.

Most RMM solutions will allow you to push scripts to devices, including the aforementioned bash script. To locate the URL you need to populate into the script please see step 4 under "Download installer".
