download sophos package for linux

Please refer to the below steps for the installation of the sophos server on a Linux device: 

1. Go to Devices > Installers.

2. Click Download Linux Server Installer.

   Alternatively, to download the installer from a command line or script, do as follows:

   1. Right-click the installer link and copy the link address.

   2. On the Linux server, at a command prompt or in a script, use wget with the link address:

      wget {Linux installer link}

3. Run the installer as follows:

   • Change the file permissions to include “execute”.

     chmod +x SophosSetup.sh

• Run the installer.
• ./SophosSetup.sh
• If you aren’t signed in as root, run the installer with the sudo command.
• sudo ./SophosSetup.sh

• Please refer to this article for the supported OS version by Sophos: https://docs.sophos.com/releasenotes/index.html.
• Open the link> go to endpoint> In the product section, select Sophos protection for Linux> In the version, select Agent. You can find the supported OS version by sophos.

I'd suggest checking which active licenses you have on your account. Sophos Protection for Linux requires a Server Protection License. 

If you need to protect a device immediately, I'd suggest starting a trial to keep your devices protected in the interim.

The installation/uninstallation process on Linux is quite quick and does not generally require a reboot.
