We have been using Sophos intercept x advanced with MTR for about 6 weeks. Since then, our bandwidth has dropped 90%. We use a gigabit internet connection and have previously achieved the following values in a speed test in the browser: Down: 900MB/s Up: 800MB/s Now, if we're lucky, we'll get Down: 60MB/s Up: 300MB/s. We found out that it is due to the following settings: If these settings are deactivated, we have full bandwidth when surfing again. But we don't want to leave them disabled. This is not a condition, the support from Sophos is not getting anywhere either. We expected more...here are the screenshots from the speedtest:deactivated settings:activated settings:
Any word on the permanent fix?
The release of Sophos Core Agent 2022.3.0.56 has begun today. You can read more about the changes and fixes included with this release on the following page by selecting "Endpoint > Sophos Core Agent > All versions."- https://docs.sophos.com/releasenotes/index.html
The two most notable changes are related to download speeds and issues with large file downloads. If you require access to this version sooner, I suggest opening a case with our support team.
how many cases you guys GES need to resolve this issue? are you asking everyone in this thread to open a case? the 2022.3.0.56 cause this issue starting November 11th.
A case is only required if you need early access to the Core Agent version. Otherwise, if you have a new/unique issue, this will need to be investigated separately.
What is the solution and when it cames available? I saw a lot of ticket... cases... information but no solution are provided.
I talked a gentleman somewhere in these forums. He was able to get Core Agent 2022.4.0.4 and use Intercept X 2022.1.3.3. He said it helped him. I was also able to get the Core agent 2022.4.0.4 and use Intercept X 2022.1.3.3 through a Ticket to support. My speed did not change. So I toggled NTP Off to test. I was not able to connect to server or any browser. I reverted back to previous settings. With my previous settings NTP=ON 250 mb....NTP=OFF 950+mb on a 1Gb service.
My Sophos Endpoint is now at Core Agent Version 2022.4.0.4 and my Sophos Intercept X is at 2022.1.3.3.My download speed is still 10 times lower then what it should be.As Kevin said, turning NTP off gives me my real download speed.
Hello. How are you measuring it? If you use the speedtest downloadable app and compare that to the website test, do you see the same 10x difference? Thanks.
I just tried the speedtest downloadable app and I got the right download speed.Only the web version gives me a bad result.Thank you !
Thanks for the confirmation. Out of interest, how does Fast.com rate the speed? I just wonder if the web protection features that apply for browser processes just don’t play well with certain speed test sites. Many thanks.
fast.com gives me the same bad result as speedtest.net by Ookla
Thanks for testing, that is useful information.
I suppose the only other test is just to see the difference with a single test file.
A quick Google for me came up with the following sites:
https://www.thinkbroadband.com/download
https://testfiledownload.com
Do you see massive differences when download large files when web protection and control are on|off.
Thanks again.
