Base Policy - Peripheral Control - no Instance ID for iPhones

There is an issue with missing instance ID of mobile phones in Sophos, which makes impossible to effectively manage them.

I see windows is finding instance ID of apple iPhone correctly:

 

I think there could ba a problem with string which contains “&” in instance ID. And such can be found in MTP devices. As far as I investigated multiple USB devices, those which contains “&” in instance ID, aren’t working.

I found only one mobile which Instance ID doesn’t include “&” – and guess what – it works Blush.

Allowing device model on particular machines will also allow other iPhones to connect to those machines - it’s unacceptable.

Can you please replicate the issue that you're currently facing then collect Procmon logs and SDU on the system where you try to test this policy. Once collected, raise a support ID with us through our support portal and share the case via DM.
