Bitlocker Recovery after windows updates

Thank you for reaching us, May we know what OS you are currently using? did you encrypt your system through Device encryption or through Sophos safeguard? 

It was done through Device encryption  from the Sophos central console

Also its windows 10

Was there any option asking you to enter your recovery key?

It sometimes does it like every week . - every time there's a windows update or something  .

Thank you for sharing this, Are these machines showing symptoms have a built-in TPM on them or NO?
you can follow these steps and apply them to test machines then observed their status.

Long & Safe method: 

1.Remove Device/User from Sophos Encryption Policy

2.Decrypt Drive

3.Clear TPM Keys from tpm.msc / Reboot

4.Add Device back to Policy

5.Turn on Bitlocker on Drive > Choose to setup new PIN or Password, or automatically login to Windows

After the recent update it did it again , the device is a HP Spectre X360 SN:5CD8389MKQ
