HP Wolf Security causing issue's

Hi,

I'd like to know if anyone else has experienced this yet. I've had 4 customers now with HP Machines that have had issues with there PC performing incredibly slowly (basically unusable), the issue seems to be this new HP Wolf Security Bloatware that HP have pushed out. I believe it's conflicting with the Sophos Agent, I've only seen it happen on machines with Sophos running. As soon as HP Wolf Security is uninstalled the PC returns to normal.

Has anyone else experienced the same thing? It's annoying that HP just push this stuff out and break things.

Yes we are seeing this loads at the moment. Seems to be rolled out with HP sure sense. The end user will be offered it, should they except, the problems can begin.

To get the machine running normally in the short term, there is an icon running in the system tray. You can then disable Malware Prevention.

Then remove the software and all other HP bloatware.

Yes, has been identified already that HP Sure sense causes this. You may refer to this Community post. If Hp Sure sense is installed on the HP device it’ll automatically call the other security product of HP will cause additional conflict.

Ok for a fresh install, but this is not helping if it is rolled out in a HP update, why not simply block the app?

Per HP support if you have the ":HP Support Assistant" configured to install important and optional updates it will install Wolf even if Sure Sense is not installed. I have not verified this but since you cannot install Sophos with Sure Sense installed, I asked about how it would get installed. This was the only answer that they had to explain the situation.

Correct: it will install as an HP update. I have pc's with Sophos installed an running where suddenly HP wolf is installed too and they stop performing..
