Azure AD Sync not working in Sophos Central

I am trying to setup Azure AD Sync in Sophos Central. Testing connection works fine, but I still receive the following error:

 

The request is denied due to insufficient privileges. For example, a non-administrative principal does not have permission to delete a resource.

 

After searching I found this post: https://community.sophos.com/products/sophos-email/f/general/113194/azure-ad-sync-problem

 

Going from there, it could be a permission error. I followed the link, suggesting to use azure cli. But when using azure cli I get an error, that we do not have a valid subscription. So my assumption is, that azure ad sync with sophos central does not work with the free azure account and instead a P1 subscription ist needed. Am i correct?
