Free home firewall, where is the documentation?

I have installed the free home firewall software on a computer with 2 Ethernet ports.

At the main menu screen (Sophos Firmware Version SFOS 19.0.1 MR-1-Build 365), there

are 9 options. If I select AA, and enter my serial number, it responds that activation process failed... No internet connection. Check your internet connection as described in the product documentation.

I cannot seem to find any documentation for this product on the Sophos website.

Can someone please post a link?

Hi Kushal,

Are you familiar with the free Sophos Home Firewall software that your company produces? It installs on any Intel based PC. There does not appear to be any documentation for it on the Sophos website, and I cannot find any information on it anywhere on the web.

The videos you linked to are for your commercial hardware firewalls.

The Sophos home firewall software is just that, software.

Alan,

Thanks for replying to my text.

There seems to be a lot of confusion as to which sophos product I am referring to.

Sophos offers a free 'Sophos Firewall Home Edition' which is a downloadable .iso file and installs on any Intel based PC.

The software installs fine but when I enter the registration code that Sophos sent me, it tells me I am not connected to the internet and to 'read the documentation' for help.

I cannot find ant documention on the Sophos website, and no mention of this software in the forums.

Not sure what is going on here.

If there are any Sophos tech support admins reading this, or anyone who knows what I am talking about, would you please help?

Do you have a firewall rule allowing internet traffic? Do you actually have connection to the internet?

I see your confusion. The Sophos Free Firewall Home edition is actually the Sophos XG firewall home edition. (Sophos refers to their XG firewall as "sophos firewall" so that web searches give results for the XG instead of the UTM which is their older different firewall.)
