Endpoint install problem

I am trying to install Endpoint protection on one of my windows 7 pro workstations and I can't seem to get it installed. When I try as a user, I get a message saying group policy is blocking it. When I logged in as admin and tried, it went through uninstalling third party software and stopped. I checked the log file and it had error code 134 on it. I checked Sophos website and saw a mention of visual c v.9 so I installed that. Tried again on the install and got the same message. This is what my log file has:

I would appreciate any help you could provide. I have tried several times and had no luck. I have installed it on 8 of my other workstations with no problems.

Thank you in advance for any help.

  • In that case, you an force Windows Installer to always create a MSI log by creating/setting the following registry key:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Installer
    Reg_SZ: Logging
    Value: voicewarmupx!

    Info here if needed:
    support.microsoft.com/.../314852

You should then be able to find the MSI log under %temp%. Sorting by date is probably the easiest way to locate the file and if you open it, it should be obvious it is related to the MCS install.
