    Ahmed,

It is difficult for Sophos to recommend and stand behind something they did not create and do not use; especially when we don't know how you use you devices and the browsers in them.  More importantly, you are asking for only part of what you need to protect yourself from these issues.

Ad blocking in a browser can be different depending on the version of browser, the version of operating system in which it is deployed, and the various ways Ads are displayed in all those combinations of environments.  Are you talking about a web browser in a computer, a NAS, a smartphone, a tablet, a smartTV, a smart fridge, a set top box (AppleTV, Roku, etc)?  In which operating system (macOS, iOS, Android, Windows desktop, Windows mobile, Windows IOT, Chrome, BlackBerry, Blackberry QNX, Tizen, etc)?  What about ads that enter your device through other means?

Ads can enter and be displayed on your devices in many ways.  Your browser is just one of them.   No matter how much you block ads in your browsers, ads can still enter your computer through email and other applications.  Malware can also enter your devices through many more ways.  Malware can infect your device, collect your data, and deploy adware from outside your browser.  The Ad Block in your browser will be unable to stop any of this.  The Ad Block extension can also be a source of adware and malware.

To truly stop adware and other malware from entering your devices, you need several layers of security.  More importantly, you don't have to stop the ads in order to stop the malicious scripts and urls in them. Anti-malware can protect you without stopping the ads.

Im sure Sophos recommends you use their products to protect your devices and your data:

To protect your Mac and Windows computers from Malware, you can deploy Sophos Home on them. Antivirus for Linux is also available.

Next you need to protect your iOS and Android Devices.  You may also want to include the Security & Antivirus add-on.  Additional Sophos plugins are also available for Samsung and LG phones.

Now, all of the products above won't stop Ads, but they will stop the malware in the ads.  The products above will also protect your devices from malware, wherever they go, regardless of how they are connected to networks and other devices (ethernet, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB, cellular, etc).

If you want to stop ads, deploy Sophos XG Firewall on your network.  Sophos built Ad Block policies into the firewall, and they can be customized.  This will stop web-based Ads in your browser, email, applications, and operating systems.  This will not stop ads coming directly from within your device.   XG Firewall will also catch malware flowing into and out of your network through your internet gateway.  This will help protect all the devices on your network, including those devices in which you can't deploy anti-malware and anti-adware (printers, network storage systems, set-top boxes, audio systems, speaker systems, lighting controls, home automation, IOT, etc).   Your guests' devices will also be protected.  If you prefer, you can use Sophos SG UTM instead.

From your internet gateway, through your network, to your device, this will provide you with one or more levels of protection from the malware hidden in the ads you seek to stop.  This will also protect your devices from your guests' devices that are infected with malware and adware.
