Setting Up STAS

Does anyone have step by step instructions for installing and configuring "Sophos Transparent Authentication Suite".  The KB articles on it are lacking in step by step part.

We have installed just the STA collector on a non domain controller.  Can this be done?

We then just installed the STA agents on two of our DCs.

    Could you please reference the KB article and where it needs additions/clarification? I will go to the subject matter expert and get the article fixed.

    There needs to be an admin guide for STAS that explains each of the option as to what they do and what is required to make them work.  Example: what is required to make WMI work when it polls all of your PCs listed in the monitored network section.

    There needs to be explains to single DC and multiple DCs setups.  The attached KB is for multiple DCs but is not what support recommends.

    There needs to be a troubleshooting section as you will need it.

    The attached KB uses the simple network with IP as an example but nowhere so the KB tell you to use your network IPs.

    There also needs to be a complete section on how STAS works.  What do the Agents do?  What do the Collectors do?  How the collectors work with XG firewall.

     

    Currently we have had to postpone going live with XG web filter because STAS keeps stop working.  Sometimes XG Web blocks my test PC/user and sometimes not.
