Feature Request - Sophos Enterprise Console

I don't know if I'm thinking wrong or not?

If you do a Consolesettings like "Configure Email Alerts" or "Configure Dashboard" you have to be in the same SUB-ESTATE group to see the changes. For me it's more logical if you have the same ROLE like "System Administrator" you see the same things. But now you can have 2 "system Administrators" and they don't see if the other "System Administrator" makes a change in settings because they don't belong to the same SUB-ESTATE group.

  • Hello TobLof_LIO,

    this is perhaps a misconception.

    SUB-ESTATE group

you could call it group but SUB-ESTATE group is a pleonasm. A sub-estate divides the enterprise into units.

    they don't see

As far as the dashboard (and related functions) is concerned these units have either the enterprise or their individual settings (including the Latest protection from Sophos) which can only be viewed when the particular sub-estate is selected. As a user/group can be assigned to more than one sub-estate - which settings should be displayed?

more logical if you have the same ROLE like "System Administrator" you see the same things

IMO it wouldn't be logical if one role would see a green icon for Virus alerts and another role the warning or critical icon (in the same sub-estate).

You might have a "server" sub-estate where the server admins have the Administrator role. Another sub-estate might development where again certain accounts have the Administrator role. These two Administrators are independent and should be able to independently configure the console for their sub-estate as needed. In addition - a System Administrator would not be able to see what an Administrator has set.

Email alerts are sent when certain thresholds are exceeded - why should this mechanism depend on a role?
