Sophos Mobile Security - Loss & Theft - Not Working Google Voice

I currently am using the free version of Sophos Mobile Security and I am unable to send text messages to us the Loss & Theft portion (remote control alarm, remote location command, remote lock command and remote wipe command) as my main messaging client is google voice (not the messaging system with my phone provider).

The phone provider charges me a fee for each message recieved so I turned it off with them (I do not receive text messages) and moved over to google voice for all my text messages (it's free and integrated on the web.)

Is there a way to tweak your free Sophos Mobile Security Loss & Theft feature so that I can select which program receives text messages (it seems by default to select the messaging program).

If not this feature adds no value for me.

Thanks.

  • Hi,

sorry, but Sophos Mobile Security currently only supports text messages via SMS. If you cannot send them, the Loss&Theft functionality will not work. Since this functionality is only used in rare cases, we would expect, you are willing to pay the 20 cents (or whatever your rate is) to perform the necessary protection and recovery activities.

If you decide not to use SMS, the Loss&Theft functionality will not work, but all other functionality will remain functional

    Best regards
