Online game now disconnecting

Our company computers have the Sophos enterprise version and this is all managed through IT support web portal. Every time an online game is launched on CNC.net it now disconnects after 3 seconds. Worked perfectly for a long time.

I have discussed with IT support and they have now added a local exclusion to the folder containing program's executable file (.exe), but the game still disconnects after immediately loading.

Any help really appreciated

Thanks

  • Hi Hamish,

Thanks for reaching out to the Sophos Community Forum.

The best way to test this would be to request the Tamper Protection passcode for your device so that you can disable one component at a time using the "Admin Login" function. You can find further steps on how to proceed in the following article.
    - Sophos Central Endpoint: Basic troubleshooting

If you do find that there’s a specific feature that allows your program to work as expected, I recommend reaching out to your IT team to create an exclusion specific to that feature.
A recent change has likely been rolled out to your device which inspects the network traffic at a deeper level, this feature can be found in the Threat Protection Policy in Sophos Central under "SSL/TLS decryption of HTTPS websites". You may want to try turning this off to see if things return to normal.
