Python API to scan individual files

Hi, I am writing a Python script to scan individual files (allows me to skip over selected files..long story) and just need access to the API to make the scanning call. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Hello dennis CARDEN,

there's no API. Which platform and product are you using? There's the SAV Dynamic Interface that is available with certain licenses.

Ah ok.. so would be running script on a windows server..and was interested in the sophos antivirus product. I did some checking so if I understand correctly, I would install client code from sophos server onto my machine and if I have the right license, it includes SAVDI (I guess it does not come with the base license?).
