• Tell us a little bit about your background. I am a happy Mexican person, I was born in Mexico City but lived in a city 45 minutes away from there, due to my parents work. I would visit every weekend Mexico City because all of my family lived there (Grands, uncles, cousins). I took computer-related classes since elementary (Computer Science, History, Geography were my favorite subjects). I got my Bachelor in Engineer in Computer Security while studying this and after graduating I worked for HP. I moved to Canada in 2012 permanently (I have lived temporarily before) after moving I studied at BCIT Network Administration and Security Professional (Certificate), and later on a diploma in Computer Information Security Administration. I also worked in the IT department in BCIT as a Network Proctor, right after I graduated I started working for Sophos. I have had a wide range of jobs related to IT and the Food industry. What I like the most about IT is Networking.

• What’s your role at Sophos? (What products do you cover, etc.) I am a Community Support Engineer since Jun 2020. I support most NSG products UTM,XG, Sophos Central Email/Firewall/Phish/Wireless, SEA, SWA, iView, SUM, SFM, SCFM, you can find me in the Sophos Community, Twitter, and Reddit.

• What are your interests/hobbies outside of work? In Mexico I used to collect Video Games (Nintendo) and play video games of course. As a good Mexican, I also play soccer and enjoy watching Football (Soccer for the NA) and NFL. I like playing chess. In high school, I opened a chess club to teach how to play. I also participated in different tournaments (Did I win any of them?). I now play online. I also like cooking. I am planning to open a small food truck or small restaurant in the future. Every summer I like going camping and hiking, as well as traveling and organizing things. One of the things I enjoy the most is driving, I can drive for hours, especially long-distance drives.

• Who is your hero? Real person hero my grandmother! 

• What is your favorite game or sport to watch and play? Football (Soccer)

• What would you sing at Karaoke night? Depends on how much I have drink would be the song, but Don’t stop believin’ (Journey), or in Mexico I would always sing something from Jose Jose

• What song would you say best sums you up? I Got A Feeling (Black Eyed Peas)

• If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be? Mexican Carnitas Tacos (Send me a PM if you want to know the best place in Mexico to eat)

• What's your favorite family recipe?
  • Tinga. Recipe for 4
    • 4 chicken pieces (white meat)
    • 1 chayote (Or zucchini)
    • 1 carrot
    • 2 garlic gloves
    • Salt
    • Half white onion
    • A bit of cilantro
    • Some drops of olive oil
  • Put all in a express cooker for 20 minutes or until ready.
  • Then in a pan fry 2 white onions until it becomes transparent.
  • For the Salsa:
    • 4 tomatoes
    • one garlic clove
    • 1/8 of an onion
    • 1 or 2 chipotle (Canned chipotle is ok)
    • Salt.
  • Mix all
  • Add oil to a pan
  • Add the salsa until it changes color (3 minutes)
  • Take out the chicken from the express cooker
  • Shred the chicken and add this to the pan 
  • Mix for 5 minutes
  • Enjoy!

• What's your favorite movie? Back to the Future II

• Do you collect anything? Used to collect video games, but I also used to collect “Monsters in my pocket” which are rubber toys that were released in 1994. I have a Facebook fan page  with almost 10,000 followers.

• If you had to describe yourself as an animal, which one would it be? According to my GF I was born the year of the tiger. I think I am more like a dog.

• If you could join any past or current music group which would you want to join? Red Hot Chili Peppers

• If money was no object, what would you do all day? Travel and create jobs in poor communities

• If you could share a meal with any 4 individuals, living or dead, who would they be? Probably my grandparents.

• If you see a puddle on the ground, do you walk around it or over it? I would try to jump over it

• If you could have a super power, what would it be? Read at lightspeed 

• If you could go back to anytime in history, where would you go? When the Aztec civilization was around or the Mayas

• If you came back in your next life as an animal, what animal would you be? An eagle

• If you got to name a new country, how would you decide what to call it?  I would separate the people  according to their favorite food, I would make groups, and then play a tournament and the winner would name the country after their favorite food, it would become also the national dish, and every year  on that day that food would be only allowed to be eaten.
