Windows shares over on-prem ZTNA

First time posting on ZTNA so bear with me.

Deployed ZTNA on-prem on vmWare and setup with Azure IDP. All resources are on-prem. Azure sync works fine and group access defined. Tested access to various resources and they all work fine, except no one can get to Windows shares on a server. The server is setup as a CIFS resource. Tried setting up CIFS resources on the gateway to shares on a different server and still no joy. Agent access only. What am I missing?

There's very little documentation on this so I'm hoping someone can help.

  • Hi Ehsan,

Access to CIFS via ZTNA is supported. Can you check the following configurations:

    1. The CIFS server is added as an agent-based resource and is reachable from the ZTNA gateway.

    2. Ensure the appropriate TCP ports 139 and 445 are added

    3. And while accessing the file share on the agent, you would have to use the format: //external-fqdn/<name-of-shared-folder>

When you mean no access, what error do you encounter?
