PureMessage vs ES4000

hi all,

I have an ES4000 virtual appliance handling spam and virus filtering for email.

I have now upgraded our licence to include (among other things) PureMessage.

Is there any advantage to using PureMessage instead of/as well as the ES4000 appliance?

Thanks

  • Hi chipsnham,

Can I check where you would consider installing PureMessage?  In terms of scanning messages on arrival, PureMessage for Exchange doesn't grant you as many features as the E-Mail appliance.  However, it does allow you to scan your Exchange store for malware.  This is great for security - If we were to miss a virus detection on arrival, we could later detect it in the users' Exchange store.

So, many customers choose to use the appliance at the gateway and also have PureMessage just for the exchange store scanning.

We also have PureMessage for Domino and UNIX.
