Sophos gateway protection products avaliable as VM?

Hi,

is there anybody who knows why Sophos gateway protection products are not avaliable as VM? We have seen increased interests from number of our customers for this type of products and many of them are looking for vmware or citrix based solutions since they already have powerfull hardware enough to run these type of products ? Trendmicro, McAfee already offering this and we are ending up selling EPP from Sophos and GW from McAfee for example.I don't have info but I beleive Sophos using something like DELL or Supermicro to load up linux based appliance on top of it.

Anybody?

  • Hi all,

I can confirm that we are planning on releasing versions of the Sophos Web Appliance, Management Appliance and the Email Appliance that can run on VMWare.

The Email Appliance is at a more advanced stage of the process and is currently in Beta.

The Web Appliance  has more demanding performance requirements to ensure low-latency browsing. It is taking more time for us to ensure that we enable a positive experience on a VMWare platform. Release is still some way out. Watch this space for more information.
