Proxy Authentication Required

Hello,

We recently aquired a WS1000 to use as a proxy-server and web-security appliance.

The problem is that when we enable AD-authentication and use this SWA as a proxy-server, we get a login-screen. After entering the credentials, the login windows pops back up. After 3 times we get a 'Proxy Authentication Required' error.

- All settings on the SWA are filled in and verified.

- In configuration/system/Active directory:

- We connect directly to 1 of our DC/GC using port 389

- Ad-Synchronisation seems to work (Available groups are filled with our AD-groups)

- When we disable AD-authentication we can connect to the internet.

- The account we use to synchronize AD is domain admin and is located directly under OU=USERS

We have a server 2008 domain functional level. DC's are configured to accepted NTLM and NTLMv2.

I'm running out of options. Does anyone have suggestions on how to resolve this issue?

Thanks.

  • This could potentially caused by a loaded AD server.  If the AD server is "too busy" to respone to our authentication requests, then the user may see this prompt.  If server load seems alright to you, then contact Technical Support.  You might also want to fnd out how often the unexpected prompts happen and if this is an issue for everyone or some users.
