SWA Issues

Hi,

We are having some issues w/ our SWA. There's an instances that I can't connect to the appliance also because of that our users connected to SWA via proxy configuration has the same issue too.

Or sometimes I can connect to SWA GUI and run a test but the result is good and from SWA i can ping resolved the www.google.com site. but on user side they can't access it.

We already replace the existing sophos and tried to setup the old one but it's still the same. Is there any issue with sophos recent update?

Or could you pls. give some idea troubleshooting this.

thanks

  • What's on your network between the clients and the proxy? If you've already replaced one SWA with another then it could be your network. When you say the users can't access it, what are they seeing? Is there a specific HTTP status that's being returned? What does a ping to google.com and 8.8.8.8 show? As well as a traceroute, how far does it get?

You also say sometimes, so it's intermittent? Is it at certain times of the day on an interval or during peak times where there is a high amount of traffic going through the SWA?

  • What's on your network between the clients and the proxy?

A: Running on a flat network design. (please see the photo)

If you've already replaced one SWA with another then it could be your network? A: Yes, But upon checking and some verification our network is stable. Already check the interface counters, attributes, cables, process & etc.

When you say the users can't access it, what are they seeing? A: page cannot be displayed (NO INTERNET CONNECTION). from SWA I can ping/resolved address/dns but there's an instances that I countered some problem.

Is there a specific HTTP status that's being returned? A: No specific status

What does a ping to google.com and 8.8.8.8 show? A: www.google.com and 8.8.8.8 from SWA, Resolved and it has a normal latency but like I said to the prev. Ans there an instance that swa cant ping and resolve so what we do is we reboot the swa after that it went back to normal.

As well as a traceroute, how far does it get? A: from source to destination

You also say sometimes, so it's intermittent? A: Yes that true I said sometimes. but it's so strange that it not intermittent and the latency is so low EX:Reply from 10.34.63.237: bytes=32 time=2ms TTL=64

Is it at certain times of the day on an interval or during peak times where there is a high amount of traffic going through the SWA? A:There's no specific time we have approximately 50users connected to SWA.

    Thank you and regards
