Endpoint Web Control - unable to get working

Hi,

I have setup most of our Sophos system but have so far been unable to get the Endpoint Web Protection to work.

I know the web appliance works as i have it set to Explicit Proxy and tested some users by updating their Proxy settings over GPO and it blocked web sites, and they are in the logs.

However as Transparent mode doesnt work on our network router i am planing to use Endpoint Web Control instead.

I have enabled it on the Web Appliance, and activated it on the endpoints by setting Full Web control in the policy and entering the local appliance hostname and security key.

However it isnt blocking or loging the users at all.

Just as a test I quickly changed the policy to Inappropriate Website Control, and it worked, so i know the policy is being applied to the users.

Any ideas what im doing wrong?

The problem was that the client computers could not resolve the address of the web appliance, using nslookup it showed that the client computers could not get the IP address.

So to fix it i have set the Console policy to use the IP address for now until i sort out the DNS server to add the web appliance address.
