Connection to URL categorization service

Hello,

Our web appliance just started generating warnings:

The appliance has failed to reach the URL categorization service for more than 10 minutes. You must resolve this issue in order to get correct policy results.

Anyone else having this issue?  Sounds like Sophos might be having problems with their URL categorization service...

  • Yes, we are having the same issue, have been for a week or two.  People are getting blocked or portions of the pages are getting blocked (ie. pictures, videos) because the URL categorization is not working or is slow.  Not sure what to do about it.

    Does anyone know if each client looks to the Sophos servers for catergorization every time a web page is accessed or does it also look to the appliance server first and then to Sophos if that is not communicating?  I am starting to think that might be part of out problem and the reason browsers are taking so long to access pages.
