Outlook add-in problem OL2013-Win8

I am trying to get the outlook addin to work on OUTLOOK 2013 (with Exchange) and WINDOWS 8 PRO.

The add-in is 1.20 (just downloaded) and installs with no errors but just is not there in Outlook.

Anybody can help with this???

  • We do not have Windows 8 here at all.  But we do have and are running Office 2013.  The Sophos Outlook Add-in will work with Outlook 2013 but it is not designed, optimized to be compatible with Office 2013 yet.  Sophos technical support says there will be a release of a new version to be tested and compatible with Outlook 2013.

    On occassion, our Sophos Outlook Add-in will do one of two things - either disable itself or it will become inactive as an Add-in.  I thought this was happening because the PCs in our organization are quite old and are in need of being replaced.  But we replaced 50% of our PCs in our organization this past fiscal year and the problem still exists.

    Our new PCs have Intel iCore 7 processors, Windows 7 64-bit Professional and Microsoft Office 2013 Professional.  It installs and works but again - periodically will become disabled/inactive.

    So your issue is even more complicated given the fact that not only are you on an Office platform the Outlook add-in isn't supported but also on an OS that isn't supported by the Sophos Outlook Add-in.

    You can call into Sophos technical support to confirm though.  But that is my experience so far.
